Taylor was platted in 1883 and was named for Ed Taylor, a pioneer settler. The Village of Taylor has seen many changes over the years with both population and the businesses that once were a part of the community. Taylor's current population is less than 200 people; it is the county seat of Loup County and the hub for many community functions and activities.
